The T-15 Armata was designed to replace the vehicles of the BMP-1 and BMP-2 families in the line. In order to shorten the research and development work, the T-15 was based on the hull and chassis of the T-14 Armata MBT. Finally, a vehicle weighing as much as 48 tons was created, and therefore larger than the T-90 tank, but probably with a very extensive armor that provided the landing troops with protection from shells with a caliber of at least 20-25 mm, and probably more. Almost certainly the T-15 uses Afghanite reactive armor. The car probably also has a drive unit with a very high maximum power of about 1500 HP, which allows it to achieve a considerable maximum speed of up to 65-70 km / h and - most likely - giving it a lot of maneuverability on the battlefield. The T-15 Armata also has an extensive fire control and battlefield management system.
