Astute is the name of a class of British nuclear fighter submarines (ANNs). Units of this type have been built since 2001. In total, seven units of this type have been built or planned. The Astute-class ship is 97 m long, 11.3 m wide, and has a displacement of approximately 7,400-7,800 tons. The maximum underwater speed is approx. 29-30 knots. The ships of this type are equipped with six 533 mm torpedo tubes.
