Metallic & Chrome Paint

Metallics are where a model stops looking like plastic. Engine blocks,
exhaust, wheels, window trim, bare-metal panels — these are the colors
that read as actual metal rather than grey paint.
Alclad II is the standard for genuine chrome and polished aluminum. It's
a lacquer that needs a gloss black base coat underneath, and the finish it gives is closer to plating than paint. Worth the extra step for bumpers, grilles and show-chrome trim.
For everything else, Tamiya's metallic X range and Testors' metal flake sprays brush and spray straight over a normal primer with no special prep.
Our range spans polished aluminum, chrome, gold, brass, copper, gunmetal, burnt iron and titanium. Filter by color to narrow it down.
One tip that makes the biggest difference: metallic paint shows every scratch underneath. Sand and polish the surface smoother than you think you need to before you spray — the metal finish will magnify anything you left behind.
