The little square Testors bottle is the paint most American modelers started with, and it's still in production for good reason. Enamel self-levels as it dries, so brush marks flow out on their own — which makes it forgiving for hand-painted detail in a way acrylics aren't.

The finish is harder than acrylic once cured, and it holds up to
handling, which matters on a model that gets picked up and looked at.

Available in the classic 1/4oz bottles in flat, gloss and metallic
across a deep color range.

Two things to know. Enamel takes hours to cure fully rather than minutes, so plan around drying time. And clean up with mineral spirits or Testors enamel thinner, not water.
